The free tours took place on three dates, with visitors getting the chance to learn more about the history of the club through a timeline located around the Wham Stadium, as well as seeing Stanley’s world-class hospitality facilities, their brand new changing rooms, the club’s Accrington Pals memorial, plus much more.
Led by Stanley’s Supporter Liaison Officer, Robert Houseman, fans got to learn more about the history of the club, with Stanley one of the original founder members of the Football League.
Many visitors attending the tours also got to sample the hospitality facilities, with coffee and cake available in Coley’s after the tour.
Robert Houseman said: “It’s really great to show fans around the stadium, both people who come here every week and those who have never been here before, and tell them about the history of Accrington Stanley and to show them the fantastic facilities that we have got. It has been a real pleasure.”
One visitor to the tour added: “I wanted to come on this tour to see how it has improved over the last ten years since I last came here. With all the hospitality that they have put in here, they are now catering for all families of all ages. The tour was very informative and well presented.”
Another couple taking part in the tour said: “We’ve had a fantastic day, it is great to see all the changes that Andy Holt has made with the club since we were last here, it has been an absolute transformation. We even brought the children along and they’ve had a great time, so a good day out and I’d highly recommend the tour.”
